We need volunteers to sort through hundreds of Christmas cards which are being sent to our Capital Hill office from schools, groups, organizations and places of worship all across the nation. Volunteers will need to sort through all of the cards, categorize them and label them with the provided, appropriate military addresses to be mailed to our deployed troops serving our nation overseas in Iraq, Afghanistan and other areas around the world. Below is the information provided to anyone interested in participating in Operation Christmas Cards For Our Troops:
Tens of thousands of troops will not be able to spend one of the most important Holidays of the year with their families and friends. In our effort to ensure that no service member feels forgotten, please join with USASOA in OPERATION CHRISTMAS CARDS FOR OUR TROOPS. Send us your Holiday card and write a short note for a service member to read. Our staff will be mailing the cards directly to the troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other parts of the world where American service members are bravely defending our great nation.
We encourage groups, schools and other organizations to join us in making OPERATION CHRISTMAS CARDS FOR OUR TROOPS a huge success.
Please remember to send the Christmas cards ‘unsealed’ in the envelopes. We will need all Christmas Cards into our office no later than December 1, 2019 in order to have enough time to make it to their ultimate destination by Christmas.
